Tunica - Horseshoe - Problem getting poker rate - Advice?

Thanks to others for pointing me towards Anita at the Horseshoe in Tunica. I called her about getting the poker rate of $25/weekday and $35/weekend for 2 rooms for a trip I have planned with some other guys the end of September. She told me that she would have to put me on the cancellation list, and that it was unlikely that I would get the rooms.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get the rooms at the poker rate? None of the posts that I have read indicated any problems, so this reaction from Anita caught me by surprise.

Weekends need to be booked a long way out. I'd check the Gold Strike, they usually have more rooms available.

If you can book a room at the rack rate, the poker room will reduce it once you get there. You may want to call the poker room and verify that this policy is still in effect, you never know with the corporate cost-cutter known as HET.

Also try Sam's Town. I've never had a problem getting poker rate there.

It doesn't sound like she didn't want to give you the poker rate but that they were probably booked up. That is the week of the WSOP Circuit at the Tunica Grand.
