What are the arguments for a 3 bet?

[/ QUOTE ]

pretty simple use of the "protected pot" concept. pretty important to understand IMO.

I think the button calling makes this a pretty easy 3-bet preflop.

Yeah, this whole hand plays differently if I realized at the time the position of the raiser.

What if the tight, aggressive player was raising from EP?

Why is leading the flop bad? My initial thought was to bet out and (and likely 3 bet the cutoff). I assume the c/r is better because we are pretty sure we have the best hand and we want to charge everyone rather than drive the button out?

aces -

I love a three bet on his hijack raise and would have a three bet on his EP raise.

We are a huge dog to a solid, 17/13's EP raise and I don't think the presence of a LAG donkey's money in the pot is enough reason to 3bet OOP.

Yeah, I didn't mean that I would consider three-betting him if he was in EP. I've pretty well managed to f*ck up this thread, but if anyone is interested in discussing what to do postflop if he had raised from EP, I'd be interested in hearing it.

I thought a PF 3-bet was because we likely have the best hand against a tag open-raise from late position and a cold-call by a donkey?

Are you saying that because we 3-bet after the donkey called, that the tag might lay down a better hand (if he misses)? I thought I understood the protected pot concept, but if this is a simple use of it, maybe I'm missing something...
