Honestly who cares what kind of shoes you have. If you go to the store and you like them, just buy them. Do you need encouragement from a message board in order to calm your fears. ITS A DAMN PAIR OF SHOES

When shopping, you never say to a friend "hey what do you think of this shirt?" or ask some chick "hey, how do you think I look in this?"

A shirt is completely different than a pair of shoes. People do not care what type of shoes are on your feet. No one is walking around and looking on the ground to check out shoes. I have never had a friend make a comment about how fashionable my shoes are. If someone got new shoes (i.e. the Jordans, Carmelos, Lebrons), then someone might say "Oh you got the Jordans, sweet." It ends at that point.
A shirt is something that everyone looks at.

faded,
Besides Adidas for soccer, I prefer Nike for all my athletic footwear. I disagree re: the sambas and find them very comfortable, but maybe it's because I've been wearing them for so many years and am really used to them. Also, I like wearing shoes that are good to kick a ball around with.

I actually have plenty of experience with girls. I am in a long term relationship now. She doesn't care what shoes I am wearing nor did any of the other girlfriends/hookups over the past 24 years of my life. Girls care about their clothes and what other GIRLS are wearing. They want to look better than their friends and other hoes at the bar/club/restaurant etc.
If you think shoes are going to help your cause then good luck to you. I would concentrate on seeking advice on more important areas of life such as personality. If you are dressed nicely and can talk a good game (and fake listening to them), then you will be in the door with most any female.
