Chances are somebody has atleast a Queen, but I would probably take a stab at it on the flop when checked to me.

Kumarshah is right. This pot is just too big to give it up right away. Since you're on the button I would b/f the flop, and c/f the turn and river. No one is going to SD w/ anything that you beat (even the board 5 paired) and with a board like this it doesn't seem likely that anyone will take a stab at the pot with a missed draw, IMO.

I absolutely agree.

But answer a hypothetical for me. If we bet the flop (as we should) and get one caller, and get checked to on the turn, should we bet it again?

I would say yes because we will probably fold any drawing hand or any pair lower than Q - and if we get called, we can take a free showdown.

However, what about taking the free card. If we take the free card, we will probably be bet into on the river - then we call that bet, no?

Assuming we bet the flop, which of these lines is the best?

There's no shame in checking this here. You really think everyone is folding? If you're not already beaten, you're racing a lot of draws. I'm perfectly content to take a free card to improve to either a set or perhaps an OESD.

Fair enough. Yeah you probably won't take the pot here. But isn't getting 2 cards to improve for the price of 1SB the way to go. I really don't see a Q or K donking the turn. If you pick up the OESD on the turn, it would be nice to complete it for free, and, of course, a J on the river would be beautiful. Two cards for the price of 1SB What do you think?

I agree with Wook--check here and see if you pick up something on the turn.
