25NL 6-max: 101 flopping skills... (playalong)
Okay, I've been in this hand this morning. I wasn't 100% sure at all times what to do. I don't think this is an exceptionally difficult hand to play, but I felt uncertain at stages, that's why I'd like to get some input from you guys.
Here goes: Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $30.90 - "Sir Limpalot" 60/2/1 UTG+1: $10 - Just sat down Hero: $34.60 - Tight image, cold cards, about 15/10/5 Button: $16.45 - 45/2/2 SB: $24.05 - Sat down 1 orbit ago BB: $34.95 - The bit more aggressive version of Limpalot with 60/10/3 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero ? |

I like a small raise here actually so you can try to get big postflop bets in if you hit a nice flop, I wouldn't mind a raise to 3-4x the bb. Limping or the standard 5x here is also fine.

limp to encourage BB into the hand or raise to set up big pots when we hit big. Either has merit so I play it both ways 50/50.

Okay, I simply conclude by the number of responses that the situation isn't interesting at all, yet.
Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $1.25, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls. I was thinking of limping, but rather decided to raise it up to buy the button and have a better chance of winning a big pot if I hit. Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($5.1, 4 players) BB checks, UTG checks, Hero? |

Re: 25NL 6-max: 101 flopping skills... (playalong)
I agree, you gotta bet out here. QJ sounds like a hand they could have limped with, but QJ probably woulda bet out already, to keep away the flush chaser, right? So can you cancel out that hand? 67 coulda limped and called the raise, especially given their descriptions. But again, they definitely would have bet out, given how vulnerable their straight is.
A flopped flush coud be slow playing his hand, but even if they are, you have outs. If they flopped the flush and just call your bet to continue their slowplay, that's great. But what is the play if they come over the top after your bet? I have no idea. Either way, you gotta bet out. Pot sized bet sounds right. |
