Default NL 50 - Folding TPTK to flop checkraise

Villain just sat down and this is his first hand.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

saw flop|<font color="#C00000">saw showdown</font>

MP ($133.30)
CO ($68.67)
Hero ($49.75)
SB ($29.05)
BB ($33.79)
UTG ($65.95)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $3</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $5</font>, UTG folds, MP folds, Hero calls $2.50.

Flop: ($12.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $8</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $21</font>, Hero folds.

The flop was a little bizarre. The preflop 3-bet and then flop check makes me a little unsure of what to do. When he checkraises me I figure he has overcards so I fold. Is this good? Should I even bet the flop?

I would normally check in that spot. If villain is behind on this board he has 6 or less outs (barring QT), and if he's ahead you have 5 outs or less. This seems to be a WA/WB situation, so I think a check is good. If villain checks twice I'll bet the turn.

As played, villain definitely has an overpair/set, so I'm folding to his C/R. If he happens to have AK or trash here you'll surely find a time to stack him soon.
