Re: Betting double vs playing 2 hands in BJ
[ QUOTE ]
How does RoR or variance change when playing 2 hands in BJ vs doubling your bet?

This depends on a number of factors. For insight read Peter A. Griffin's The Theory of Blackjack.
Generally speaking, when you play two hands you reduce the variance. To reduce your risk of ruin with any given bankroll adjust your betting in line with your changing bankroll. For instance say you havea bankroll of $10,000. The advantage on your next bet is 1%, so you bet 1% of 10,000, which is $100 but say your bankroll went down to $5,000. Now, you would bet $50 instead of $100. Adjusting your betting in this fashion reduces your risk of ruin.
