I found out why the Widmer Hooligan was so awful: It's a "near gluten-free beer brewed with sorghum malt and tapioca flour."
One of my co-workers today asked how Brewfest was and said, "Did you try the gluten-free beer?" (She has celiac disease, I think it's called, and has to have gluten-free food.) I told her I didn't know, but that I had this beer called Hooligan, and she said, "That's it!" I then dashed her hopes by telling her how brutal it was. OK, I'm done ranting about Hooligan. I'll go back into posting hibernation now.
