Ok first off this was from the evening against an unknown a few hands in. Anyone here capable of calling on flop and 'reevaluating' or should I be trying to stack the KQs and such at this point. Obviously I was concerned UTG had the set... anyway if someone could give me a better line I'd love to hear if there is one.

Much thanks.

If UTG had the set or another two pair, I go broke here on the flop.

You have to stay aggressive with top and bottom pair. You don't want them to see a cheap turn and have a A,Q, or 8 come off.

Hmm, how many hands play like this? Pre-flop action makes AK,KK and AA unlikely. Post flop play makes non-set PP pretty unlikely. So KQs-KTs, KQo is all I can see we could be hoping for.

12 combos of KQo
9 combos of KQs-KTs
3 combos of 55
3 combos of 88

For a laugh lets add (for the randoms):

1 combo of JJ
1 combo of K8s

With that, I'm pretty sure pokerstove would say...bravo. (not got it installed on this comp so don't know).

I realise it's a little more complex than this, due to the betting, but I still think that you can only be really be scared of 55 or 88 and there aren't enough combos compared to what else you could be facing to make your move a wrong one.

Vis-a-vis - well played.
