Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises to $3</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero ???

MP1 is a 15/5 over 400 hands.

I'm behind his hand range, but is position enough to overcome that?

Do you call here with position with AQo? What about with AQs?

ehh youre probably right that you are behind or about even with his range but i probably call anyway since i think position makes it okay. also if hes like supremely nitty you can easily take the pot away by betting the flop if he checks or picking off his cbet if youve noticed he does it a lot whether he hits or not.

Raise or fold in my opinion. Either force him to hit the flop (and he's so nitty that he'll definitely fold if he doesn't) or fold knowing his range beats you.

Folding can't be that bad. Calling can lead to some [censored] expensive mistakes.

I'm not calling here. I might raise if I think he will fold but I won't just call here. The problem is when you hit a pair on the flop. If you hit an A on the flop, you're probably not going to win much money against a nitty player like that. He'll probably ditch QQ and KK. The only time you get action is when you're behind. You won't get any action if you hit a Q either and he is behind.

"Is it ok to fold medium strength hands to a nit?"

Yes.
