I think you played this well. I wouldn't cap preflop, but that doesnt really matter much long term.

Actually normally I just call this 3-bet pre-flop I have no idea what made me cap. Maybe I was rushing from earlier... maybe I just thought put the onus back on him.

Your reasoning for capping should be either:

1) VALUE - there is no value in this cap.

2) POSITION - Unless you plan to check a lot of flops (not this one obviously) then there is no reason for it. ATs is a hand thats easily dominated against the 3-betting range from the SB of a lot of players, capping for position is just a donation in the long run.

If you don't know why you perform an action (bet, raise, call, fold) then you need to step back and ask yourself what your doing wrong.

I call down after that turn card. The river card is worse.

Raise flop and charge AK-AJ Id say.
Yeah I would also call down from the turn on. Thats really too much of a scare card.

Anyone folding that river? Were losing now even against AQ and AJ. Tie against Ax. Really not many ways to be good after that river.

Villian still raises only 10% of his hands (most of which you are behind) so capping sucks.

Im raising the flop here since the villian is pretty aggro and the board is 2-suited.

EDIT: Uh, I just saw teh sample size. Meaningless statistics should probably be left out. I PLay it like he's an unknown. Call pf 3-bet and call down all streets.

don't cap PF. raise the flop. don't raise the turn. easy easy fold on the river

i don't think this is an easy river fold, but this definitely a bad turn to raise. sure it makes a potential flush, but i'm more worried about it improving AK or KK.
