A deal my friend came up with recently worked as follows:
He'll back the player 100% w/ full access to PT database.
You start out making 30%. For every 30 bets you win the percentage goes up by 5%. It can never go higher than 50/50. So if you win 90 bets, you make 30% on the first 30 bets, 35% on the second 30, and 40% on the third 30 and so on.
Rakeback is split 50/50 if you win. If you lose the rakeback goes towards paying back the loss, anything left over is split 50/50.
You also have to work out a minimum hands played per month.
Everything resets at the beginning of the next month.

... .. until you pay back your backer and play out of pocket, right?

Unless you prefer the whole zero risk element.

my backer for live play fronts me the standard buyins and at the end of the night he takes back the intitial buyin(s) and 20% of my winnings.

he says that if i ever lose my buyins i dont have to ever pay him back as that is his risk but ive yet to lose anything or walk away without a profit.

online play im not quite certain about. 35%ish would probably be average im guessing

I'd probably work a backing deal something like this:

X # of hands, split wins and losses 50/50, or, you play X # of hands for $Y.

X would be a number between 100,000 and 400,000.

Nevertheless, it sounds like you've got the better end of the deal here.

im thinking the same thing. i think its insane that most people here are talking about 50% WITH having to pay back LOSSES.

That's not backing, that's selling action.

Backing = you risk nothing but can win less. Details can get complicated.
