Default I flopped a boat. I fold the flop.

I have no idea how to play this hand. About half the deck = scare cards on the turn, and there's a chance I'm drawing dead. What do you do?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($97)
CO ($101.95)
Hero ($182.85)
SB ($116.10)
BB ($41.30)
UTG ($29)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP posts a blind of $1.
UTG calls $1, MP (poster) checks, 1 fold, Hero calls $1, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($5) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets $4, BB calls $4, UTG folds, MP folds, Hero folds.

I lay down my 2 7s and wait for the next hand.

I wouldn't like it, but I'd do exactly what you did. Nice discipline.

I agree with the flop discipline but would be inclined to raise it preflop. You have a good hand, position and a lot of dead money in the pot unless you know something about UTG's limp that you didn't mention.

Any reads?

I'd raise preflop with 77 on the button and an UTG limper. As played a fold is ok, but I feel like you're ahead a lot here and you have position. I might raise the flop or fold it depending on my opponents.

Terrible post. Why don't you expand on what you are saying instead of providing a useless one liner?

With position, the extra blind, and 1 limper, I raise this preflop.

On the flop, the pot is tiny, and there is significant action. If you continue, the turn will likely be a difficult decision, as will the river. And you may already be dead. I think this is an easy fold.
