Default Want to learn another form of Poker..

It's between Stud or Omaha for me, just wondering which would be better (or more popular) to learn. Also, would SS2 be a good resource to learn the basics?

I'm primarily a Hold em player. I really wasn't interested in playing any other form until i started to get burnt out on playing HE. At first, I didn't like Omaha, but after playing it for a while, I've really grown to love the game. I play Omaha cash games to build my bankroll, and try to win a big MTT playing NLHE.

I haven't read SS2, so I can't help you there.

Clearly Omaha, imho. At the WSOP, they were not even spreading a Stud game that I saw at the Rio, whereas at least 4 tables were going of either PLO or O8. Look at the number of omaha vs. stud games spread by party right now -- many more omaha.

Additionally, its harder to multitable Stud online since you have to remember everyone's upcards, which probably more than offsets the add'l info that a good player can use from Stud games.

having said that, the most important thing is what is fun for you personally to play, and which game meshes best with your skillsets (ie. bad memory then dont' play stud etc.)

I'd try out Stud. I started playing it and really enjoy it. Omaha is a little too similar to Hold 'em for me, but I still enjoy playing it.

Are you a limit or no/pot limit HE player. If you're a limit player I'd vote for Stud, if you're a big bet player I'd vote for Omaha.
