For some reason, my work blocks www.twoplustwo.com, but allows forumserver.twoplsutwo.com. Why are the archives on the former?

To that end, I find it strange that to find a post older than 6 months you have to click 'older archives' and THEN find 'recent archives'.

Lots of newbie's around here don't see that older-archives link at the bottom and I think it's kind of difficult for them to navigate (I've seen Q's about where to find such-and-such post all the time).

Sorry for hijacking. I was just going to make my own post about this but it seemed reasonable to tack it on to this thread instead.

Only the Older Archives are on http://twoplustwo.com, the more recent archives are hosted on http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/ubbthreads.php.

Both of you could bookmark the archiveserver link, xTKOx to avoid the work block, and MicroBob for a quicker link (though this suggestion may not help the newbies that MicroBob is concerned about).

Yes. i know how to find it and it's not a problem.

I just think it's weird and cumbersome and kind of hidden for others to figure out.

I think even some long-time 2+2'ers have no idea where they are.

Bob, this is something I have thought about many times as well too. My suggestion for Matt/Chuck, would be to have the Older Archives link take you to the archive server forum directly, and then in a reverse of the present situation, have a link at top for the oldest archives page where the digests reside.

btw anyone trying OP's link will get a page not found. For the dense/non computer literate, there's an extra . on the end in Beer's post...the above link works.

Unfortunately, this doesn't solve the issue for me (unless I'm not understanding what you're saying). I suppose that the reason for the seperate servers is to improve performance on the forum server?
