Re: *Official* FT Sweat: TheUsher @ $5000 Pot Limit HE
159. On a flop of 932, Sass bets $45,000 and Lester raises $120,000 more. Sass moves all in for an additional $365,000 and Lester makes the call. Sass shows 64 for a gutshot straight draw and Lester turns over 97 for top pair. The turn is the Q and the river is the K. Lester wins the pot and eliminates Sass.
Alan Sass finishes the tournament in second place and earns $284,256. Not a bracelet but a VERY VERY good performance.. Congrats!!! |

Re: *Official* FT Sweat: TheUsher @ $5000 Pot Limit HE
OK everyone I'm back for a little while before heading to the after-party at the Rhino.
Mostly what I will say at this point is two things: 1.) Alan played amazingly awesome poker. 2.) It was incredibly fun to be there. The tone was set immediately when the M.C. introduced the players. The first few got polite applause plus a smattering of cheers. Then Alan got a HUGE ovation with mulitple shouts of "SHIP IT!!!!!" from 20 or so shipithollas and 2+2 crew. The ENTIRE room looks over to see what's going on and why all these young guys in custom-made "shipitholla" baseball caps are making so much noise. It's only the introductions but the tone has been set. With the exception of a couple of slow stretches, there was lots of action, and some gut-wrenching boards where the dog would hit on the flop and his opponent would redraw on the turn or river. Plus the still photographer came over to get pictures of our crazy group, and a cardplayer reporter interviewed good2cu about us. By the end Alan's cheering section was well over 30 strong and louder than ever. Dinner was a murderer's row of STTF stars, current and former. The second place finish right after dinner was a bit of a letdown but it was a spectacular run and an amazing experience for everyone involved. Ship. It. Holla. |
