Re: $20/180man KQ, tough
yeah ur out of position.... so even if MP is a LAG your still more than likely gonna need to connect in order to continue. Flat calling out of position w/ a trouble/drawing hand like kq is not a good play at all. If you think MP is a lag a + your hand is good; then why not push over the top.....

Re: $20/180man KQ, tough
MP1 isn't the real problem here ultimately. If BB is truly a rock he's got you crushed with that min-raise behind you. Ignoring that for the moment, this is a raise or fold pre-flop OOP, and even if MP1 is a LAG he's raising into 6 people, so you'd want to be real sure he's LAG and can fold when you come over the top. I'd much rather use a healthy stack here to steal from the rocks than screw around with a LAG.

Re: $20/180man KQ, tough
It's a fold or a push preflop the first time. If MP1's laggy but not maniacal, I'd push this... i.e. you have to be sure he's going to consider folding hands.

I agree with everyone else...
Preflop you have to raise or fold. Calling 1/8th of your stack OOP with one to act isn't great. If you are the BB in this hand and last to act, I like a re-raise; but given your spot I'm folding when it first comes around to me and then after BB min-raises (even though the pot odds are so tempting, you are almost always dominated by at least the BB). |
