River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (9.5BB, 4 players) BB checks, UTG bets, Makonnen calls, Button folds, BB calls. Results: Final pot: 12.5BB UTG shows As 6s 6h 4h Makonnen doesn't show 9c Ah 2s 6d BB doesn't show 2h Kh Js Kc My thinking, such as it was, is that the flop counterfeits most strong lows. The turn gives me second nut low, and A4 is certainly a possibility, but he could just as easily be betting trip 3's. Are the turn and river calls stupid or long term EV+? -Makonnen |

Re: Makonnen\'s Muck Ups (Low Limit O8) #3
fold on flop. simple as that, ur just going to end up costing urself the rest of the way down. A4 is still a possibility and when BB is betting both flop and turn and you have a caller in front of you, you are getting 1/4 of this pot @ best.

Re: Makonnen\'s Muck Ups (Low Limit O8) #3
OK, so its clear I don't fold on the flop enough. My W$WSF is around 30% and Went to SD is about 40%, and I fold on the flop about 25% of the time I see it.
In terms of my thought process, I am trying hard to refocus only on flops where I have scoop outs, but in terms of numbers, any guidance on how the above looks? -Makonnen |

Yeah, I am. It reminds me of when I was learning NLHE and SNG's--reading the advice is the first step, integrating it into the game is the second or third or eighth or whatever.

If you are not going to fold the flop,
you need to raise it. Being a calling station with marginal hands will get you nowhere. |
