Someone needs to be fired.
hint: it's the writer.

Bleh. Interesting concept - bad execution.

Your approach is wrong. Don´t ask the poker community what they would like to see. Instead, draw comics which ridicules the game and it´s players in the most cynical and degrading way possible, then come back and show the results. This way you´re much more likely to produce something satirical, sharp-witted and funny.

Cliff notes: say something mean about me, and I´ll think you´re funny.

Franky

Jokes are much more funny when they are unexpected. Family guy plays on that a huge ammount. The first comic, even though it served to develop characters, had a very weak and expected joke. The main character wakes up and thinks about poker, goes to work and thinks about poker, goes home and plays.....poker. From the first frame, the reader saw that punchline coming.

The River strip I thought was good. The room flooding with water was very unexpected and made me laugh when I realized that "the river" got him.

On a different note:
You may want to leave a little bit up to the reader to figure out for himself. The last frame in "The River Runs" could have been "It gets me every time" rather than "the river got me". There was more than enough clues to allow the reader to come to that conclusion. And I think subconsciously, its more funny when the reader figures out the punchline for hisself.

he asked for our feedback and we gave it to him, I think theres some good constructive critisism here.

On a side note, I think the new comic is pretty funny, but the punchline wasn't that strong.

You are right and I need all the criticism/comments I can get. This will always be a work in progress.

On July 31st we will be going 3 days a week with the updates. This will allow for so much more when it come to development and storyline. Keep reading!

I've done 84 of them. I can tell you it isn't easy, and they certainly aren't all winners. Once in a while you hit on something funny that isn't a total inside joke.

Just google dugglebogey and comic and you'll find mine.
