Lately I've been wondering if I'm missing value with these hands. Villain just sat down, notes from last sessions says he's reraising at least with AJ,AQ etc preflop on the button and stats vpip 19%, PFR 12%, AF 3,6. When the flush came I was puzzled with minreraise because I was holding the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] so he definately didn't reraise me with AQ type of hand. So I decided to call it down. Thoughts?

It is likely that villain has an overpair and unlikely he has 88 or a 2, as such push turn. I also like the lead flop idea.
On the river you're probably no good, and you'll never get an overpair to fold. Check fold (but you should have pushed turn). |

Why would villain check the flop with an overpair? When I was playing that hand I gave him some respect because my notes were saying that he's not reraising preflop with random crap. Tho now that I'm thinking about it I was quite commited after that call so push is the only option there

Checking behind this flop with AA/KK is something lots of good players will do.

A flushdraw is calling the flop anyway (correctly, taking implied odds into the equation). A flop check might induce villain to fire with air he would have folded to a flop bet. On the turn it's much easier to defend against a flushdraw since there's only 1 card to come. Don't take this line as standard though.

I dont mind checking flop.
But, u really must push 3bet push turn. When u checked turn, whats your plan for the river? c/c? c/f? c/r? U definitily should push when worst hands are inclined to call u. |

If I were the villain, I'd take your 8 BB raise to indicate a fairly powerful hand, such as a strong pocket pair, or AK AQ AJ. Let's assume I do have Aces or Kings, I reraise my strong holding, then I see a perfect slow playing flop, especially now that I have managed to improve the size of the pot. I'm raising the turn to punish an overpair. I personally would have raised to something like 60 so as to punish a singleton flush draw and make it incorrect, even with 11 outs, to call.
