Another 2/4 AK hand, 6max
No reads on any of the players.
I open UTG with AKo for 14$. Effective stacks 400$. Cold called by the cutoff, BB calls. 3 to the flop, 44$. Flop comes KJ9, two clubs, I have the A of clubs. Check, I pot, cutoff min raises to 88$. BB folds. Now what? I'm not real interested in calling and having no idea where I'm at on the turn. Fold seems weak. Reraising lets him get away from an inferior hand correctly, and almost commits me to getting stacked if I'm behind. Thanks Leon |

Re: Another 2/4 AK hand, 6max
I fold here, but hate it. This is one of those hands where you're probably ahead but: villain has position, he'll now have initiative, you're hand has little chance of improving.

Re: Another 2/4 AK hand, 6max
Hmm there are a lot of hands you are already behind, and a lot of cards that can come on the turn that would scare you more, with very few that won't...if you don't want to play for stacks with this hand (udnerstandable), and there is such a huge range of cards that could potentially hurt you on turn, what's wrong with folding?
I guess you could call, but you will probably have to fold anyway to most turn bets, unless you want to commit yourself with TPTK on a scary board. |

Re: Another 2/4 AK hand, 6max
What do you think of calling, donking the turn, and folding to a raise. The min raise is weird, and I think some bad players will make it with KQ or a draw.

Terrabon,
exactly my thinking and why I hate a call. I hate the idea of calling and donking even less. Too transparent. Leon |

Even if its transparent, you think hes going to have the balls to exploit it if he has a worse hand?

Re: Another 2/4 AK hand, 6max
A lot of times at these limits though players min raise their draws to catch a free river if they miss the turn. I guess id call the raise and lead out to a blank for 50ish to see where you are. Fold to shove.

Re: Another 2/4 AK hand, 6max
This is what I call a comfort level play. Much of it depends upon the dynamic between you and the other player.
Things towards folding: You haven't been in a lot of pots with him He plays tight/weak Towards Calling He's gunning after you. He's playing way too many pots. Aggression is high, albeit donkish (IE Minraises). |
