for me it's where did you sleep last night. the first time i heard it i was just blown away. it's actually an old appalachian folk song with a fascinating history dating back to the 1870s, and has been recorded by leadbelly, joan baez, and dolly parton, among dozens of others. reprint of nytimes article |

On their most recent album (Best hits + 1 other new song) I find myself listening to Man Who sold the World from Unplugged more than any other song by far. Great rendition.
