Default Middle pair with big kicker in big pot

Hi:

I would like some feedback on this hand.

I usually play online, where play is generally pretty tight.

In a live 3/6 game, The table is very loose and very aggressive.

Parden the hand history... This is from a live game, so I had to make this by hand.

Oaks Club 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero in seat 5 is Small Blind with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
fold, call, call, fold, call, raise, call, fold, Hero calls, big blind calls as do others.

Flop: (14 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7 players)
Hero bets 5 callers

Turn: (10 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero checks, check, bet, raise, re-raise, fold, Hero folds

Here is my question. Would you have folded in this spot.
I was sure I was beat at this point when the jack hit the board.
Plus there was potential straight on the board and of course the flush draw.

I wouldn't have bet the flop. The best play here is to check and hope the action checks to the pre-flop raiser who is in late position, this way you can check/raise and hopefully limit the number of players to see the turn. Your hand is very vulnerable and you need to try and protect it.

On the turn, I like the original check, but you don't have the odds to call when it comes back to you 3 cold. You're getting 16:3 and you only have 5 outs.

There's a familiar name...

I actually wouldn't have called 2 in this pot. I think suited K's are one of the most over-rated starting hands out there. That being said, you are getting great odds.

Given the play up to this point I'm folding to 3 bets after that turn. Even if that was the Jc, given the action, I still think a fold is correct.

This is actually a pretty easy call given the game conditions. If hero makes a big hand, he will rake in a huge pot.

Okay, so at what point do you say this pot is too big to give up, even if it costs you a bunch of bets to see the river, and you are pretty sure you are a dog?

As it turned out two players made it to the showdown after a 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] hit the river.

One of the players had AJ the other had J7 and took the pot with 2 pair. Needless to say my 9 would have made trips and taken down a pot an excess of 20 Big Bets in it.
