Re: 25/50: River decision
I agree, but at 25/50 the field is split exactly two ways. Those who want to win your money and those who want to make you fold. You have to decide which guy it is you're playing against.

Re: 25/50: River decision
[ QUOTE ]
I'm suprised no one is replaying hte initial bet on the river. First, you have to assume you have the best hand, going against an aggro opponent. While JJ is possible, AA is very very unlikely. Looking at his aggressive nature, I'm thinking why bet into him. If he doesn't hold JJ or AT a lot of aggro opponents will fold to river bets. You showed strength turn and now river. The idea behind LAG play is steal small pots, punish meek opponents, bet scare cards, bet against passive play, but only get involved in big pots with big hands and get paid well with them. Moreover, if you bet will he call with a worse hand. Not too often. Will you get a better hand than yours to fold. Never. Therefore, the best play is a check call. [/ QUOTE ] Yahoooo...next post. |

Re: 25/50: River decision
Its a tough fold, and to answer your question directly,I don't think its that bad a call. Its a tough spot, and I have to agree that, in hindsight, leading out on the river may have been a mistake. Having said that, I would definitely have done the same thing. Its the kind of situation where it might be braver to fold than to call. Its hard to justify getting stacked in an unraised pot with your sort of hand.
