By your logic, I should be able to post "Joe Sebok vs. Dutch Boyd: who would win in a fistfight?" and expect rational, serious discussion. [/ QUOTE ] Depends on reads, Dutch would be the clear favorite in his "manic" state but it would be close otherwise. |

There also could be sealed indictments of online poker execs that the Feds are waiting to serve until after the WSOP is over to avoid negative press. [/ QUOTE ] And pigs may one day fly...you know with all that genetic enginering crap, this may very well happen |

I think you guys are missing the boat here....HR4411 is a bill to stop all online gambling, sports betting and poker in particular and also online casinos........it won't get passed this year as the Senate will only have until August 4th to pass it and it won't even come to the floor for a vote.....
That though is not the point......the way the 1961 wire act reads is all gambling transmitted through wire devices is illegal.....and they consider the internet a wire device...... Even though these poker rooms are considered legal in the venues that they are housed the U.S. DOJ doesn't see it that way.....I tend to agree with Lawman that some of the players at the WSOP could be in jeopardy... Doyle either owns or is a front for Doyle's Room.....then you have Ivey and the rest of those guys owning or shilling for FullTilt....and numerous other names fronting for other poker sites..... Now it probably won't happen, but if they want to make a test case of say Doyle Brunson, do you honestly believe the rest of the name players will keep their affiations???? Do you think the poker room honchos will show at the WSOP or will there be meaningless staff support handing out the goodie boxes and tee shirts????? Same as you won't see Calvin Ayre in Vegas.....You won't see anyone that has anything to do with upper management of these poker rooms....just my opinion |

That means top casino executives will have to worry about personal exposure if they try to catch a connecting flight in the USA, as did Carruthers, says Walters." [/ QUOTE ] Not to mention countries that will oblige the IRS/FBI/DOJ/USA to serve warrants of arrest. Like, France, believe it or not? RazzO |
