Some decent advice here. The general rule is to dress a notch above what people wear to work every day. If it's a factory job where people wear jeans and tshirts, wear khakis and a polo shirt. (BTW, that's the kind of job I have, and I fail to see how it's not corporate. The company I work for has quarterly revenues in the billions, and there are Vice Presidents who dress the same way I do.) If it's a job in the banking industry, wear the absolute best suit you can afford. Most jobs fall somewhere in between.

I do agree that it's better to be overdressed than underdressed.
