I think this would accomplish about the same thing as a flop raise. Either he gets away if he's way behind or he c/r you with something that crushes you.

Anyway I dont think calling this flop gives you any more useful info than raising it does...if you're calling I would think you're looking to get to showdown as cheap as you can.

Why do you want to take the pot down when you're ahead? Thats faulty reasoning, but I like a call, and value bet on turn if checked to and getting away from it if check raised.
