Default Line Check vs Floater - NL$400

Villian is 38/17/2.57 over 75 hands and I noticed he started to float me last few orbits. I'm 24/14/2.0 and have been stealing off the button. Last hand I showed was when caught bluffing on river by a 3rd pair (different player).

HERO ($409.90) [ K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] (BTN)
SB ($299.80) (SB)
UTG ($80.00) (UTG)
BB ($443.60) (BB)
CO ($298.70) (CO)

Preflop (5 players): Hero is BTN with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG calls ($4.00) [2.5:1].
1 fold.
HERO raises $16.00.
SB calls ($14.00) [2.86:1].
2 folds.

Flop (10 bets ($40) in pot, 2 players): Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB checks.
HERO bets $30.00.
SB raises $80.00.
HERO calls ($50.00) [4:1].

Turn (50 bets ($200) in pot, 2 players): Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB bets $110.00.
HERO raises $220.00.
SB calls ($93.80) [5.67:1].

I see monsters. Villain is telling you he can beat a pair of queens on the flop, which means he can beat a pair of kings. Since you can't improve (v unlikely) and you don't want to see an Ace or a diamond on the turn, I reckon you are stuck between pushing and folding to his flop raise.

I like everystreet.

pushing or folding to the flop raise is really bad. essentially villain can invest just $50 to get you to either fold or put in $400 which is not what you want to do.

My definition of a floater is someone who calls in a later position looking to take it away on later streets, am I mistaken on this?

There's a big difference between this guy floating you in position and him check raising this flop OOP. I think you're dead here quite often

actually if you both started with more, say $600, I like the turn minraise for cheap showdown better. as stacksizes are, I would rather push it in on the turn because I doubt you are folding for your last $100 getting 8 to 1 on the river should he decide to call your minraise and push river.

exactly - hero is pretty much pot committed to any villain bet on the turn, which is very likely having been check-raised on the flop. if the stacks were larger, I like the current OP line more.
