25/50 KK in SB vs tighty
BB is a tight full ring regular from 10/20 NL. Don't think I've ever seen him show a full out bluff and he doesn't semi-bluff very often, preferring to check/call. He's not afraid to bet his strong hands but essentially is pretty straight forward. Opponent probably views me on the lag side but not crazy. I don't have the hand history for this.
Folded to me in the SB with KK and I just complete. BB checks. Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check-raise his flop bet of 70 to 140 and he calls. At this point I think his most likely hand is 1.an 8 or 7 looking to hit his kicker and if not he'll dump the turn. 2. open-ender Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I lead for 200 he raises to 450 and I just call. He definitely doesn't have an open-ender. I see a set/A7/A8/AK. I think if I reraise the turn he dumps A7/A8 and possibly AK but probably not. AK is probably less likely given the lack of a preflop raise, not to mention it's the case King. Anyway, I may have made a mistake by just calling. River: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I push for 4700 into a pot of 1280. Comments on any street? "You suck" will be accepted. |

CR river. Or put more money in on the turn. I wouldn't worry about someone folding A7/A8 if you reraise on the turn in a HU blinds battle. If I put him on A7 I go allin on the turn because an 8 or K just shuts him down.

it's never right to try to trap someone there with a big hand?

Yeah, CR river is good. I guess I pushed because it's likely he has a full house which he will call. But if he has AK he probably doesn't call the push. I say probably because sometimes people get suspicious to the overbet or maybe I pegged his postflop tendencies incorrectly. But if I check river he definitely puts 700-1000 out there with top two. Good point. The more I think about it the more I think 3 betting the turn is wrong though. A flop cr and turn 3 bet on my part is pretty strong. |

pf/flop combination is great thumbs up [/ QUOTE ] I understand it is NL 101: limp pf, min cr flop. "Oh donk has a hand". Except he's played with me before and probably thinks I'm tricky (tricky bad or tricky good who knows) so probably wouldn't narrow my hand range to a monster. If he wasn't tight I would have lead or cr'd fairly big. But honestly his small bet froze me and I just thought "Don't play it straight forward." Maybe min cr sucked. dunno. |
