Effective Stacks 2k
Hero has just sat down. Villain probably knows hero is a LAG winner. Dealt to Hero: 77 Hero opens in CO to 70 Decent winning LAG makes it 240 on the button. Hero calls. Flop: KhKd5s Hero checks. Villain bets 450. Hero calls. Up to this point I think it's incredible standard. Now I want to take two different scenarios. #1) Turn is 3c. Hero. Checks. Villian Shoves What % of the time do you call here? #2) Turn 3c Check. Check River 8h. Hero Checks. Villian Shoves. What % of the time do you call here? |

0% and 0% - You get no information what so ever in this hand, other than he should have a very good hand. I see no reason to play this hand further than the flop. I think you should lead the flop if you intend to call anyways - that would give you some info.

I think a flop cc is not incredibly standard, and is likely a losing play, unless this good LAG is known for giving up very easily after a flop cbet. Im usually fairly LAG, and its very very likely your preflop and flop plan plays right into the LAGs hands.
The interesting part about your post is the question about how likely your hand is good here, given a turn push or a turn check and a river push. Personally, if the LAG is good and capable of a value bet after a turn check with a hand like TT-JJ on the river, then you are probably more often ahead if the money gets in on the turn, rather than the river. -Jason |

then you are probably more often ahead if the money gets in on the turn, rather than the river. [/ QUOTE ] That's likely true, simply because you showed weakness on the turn. However, if villian is a good LAG, you are playing in his hands I believe. That said, what if he's capable of value pushing hands that barely beat yours? (Any 8 if an 8 falls, 99-QQ). If he knows you are calling down light, I think overplaying this hand is very negative EV. It's situation and opponent dependant though, I'd say percentages are something like <25% or so for me in both situations. |
