Not so well-known movies by a father and son
Maybe these have already been discussed, but not many friends had seen either and most enjoyed both.
The Zero Effect: Bill Pullman is the world's greatest detective and Ben Stiller his somewhat faithful assistant. Kim Dickens is quiet, strong and sexy. Directed by Jake Kasdan, son of: Lawrence, who directed Mumford, the story of a psychologist who finds himself immersed in the lives of his patients while falling in love with Hope Davis. Great cast, sweet movie. As I was typing this I realized that I cannot off the top of my head think of even one other pair of fathers and sons who both directed and wrote their own movies. Then again my brain is mush from being out in the sun all day. |

For a second I was hoping David or Amy Sedaris was involved here, but no. The elder Sidaris seems like a real auteur.

Re: Not so well-known movies by a father and son
Plot line from IMDB about Sidaris' The Day of the Warrior:
"The Legion to Ensure Total Harmony and Law (L.E.T.H.A.L.), is tracking a criminal mastermind known only as The Warrior..." How such a cinematic genius has gone unrecognized is beyond me. |
