Re: Brag: I finally beat Linley\'s Dungeon Crawl.
Am I the only one who's too dense/ADD to play this?
I keep hitting the wrong button and it'll say "what do you want to drink/eat/pick-up?" and i try to get it to stop asking and it won't, rinse/repeat. I have no idea how to execute a battle other than running at or away from something. I gotta go play Civ 4 now. |

Maybe it just took a long time to evolve, then I would have realized all the non recoverable mistakes I made and had to start over, but I just got bored and hung it up. |

[/ QUOTE ] I haven't played MOO III, but from that I read it's a complete travesty. MOO II was highly acclaimed, but it went too much over to the dark side of micromanagement for my taste. MOO I, OTOH, is deep and challenging without being overwhelming or tedious. |

I did moo i or ii, not sure which. I had high hopes for mooiii, but I can't find any fault with the travesty description.

Re: Brag: I finally beat Linley\'s Dungeon Crawl.
MOO 3 sucked. MOO 2 is the best of the MOO series, but MOO 1 is still very fun. My big problem with MOO 1 is that when another race breaks their alliance with you, you get penalized diplomatically for being the treaty breaker.
One day I was really bored and in a huge galaxy with 5 opponents as the Meklar (average level) I got every single technology. All of them. |

[/ QUOTE ] When something like that is your biggest problem with a game, it usually means it's awesome. Anyway, unless you're Human, diplomacy is very hostile on the Impossible difficult setting. Basically, diplomacy is a time bomb and the only thing you can do is appease erstwhile conquerors with technology gifts and pit races against each other in wars to stave off the inevitable invasion as long as possible. Klackons are the best on Impossible, btw, because of their Industry bonus, but all the races are winnable. Can you tell I'm very enthusiastic about archaic PC games?
