Default If online poker becomes illiegal..............

do you think all the online players will move to the casinos to grind, making the games alot tougher to beat?

Unless they can find a way to multi-table, I don't think it'll be that big an issue.

Go to the bathroom and pull the notebook out of your pocket.

Don't worry. Most online 'pros' can't really play poker and they are clueless without their PAHUDS. That's why it's so easy to beat them live and why the games are always better live. Live you are just playing against people, online you are playing against semi-bots 8 tabling with their PAHUDS and other software making all of their decisions for them. Live games will always be good if online play dies away or not.

To seriously answer your question, yes it could drive more players to B&M casinos. How many? Who knows. But I do think many of the players who started going to B&M's would be some of the better winning online players. Many of the total fish online are just playing for fun and entertainment. Plus they never really "see" their losses, since all the money is transferred electronically. When these players start going to the casinos and find out there are no micro limits and they have to pull $200 of cold hard cash out of their pocket to donk off in under an hour at the $1/$2NL table, they will decide poker isn't that much fun. Also, since most folks don't live right around the corner from a casino, it takes extra effort, time and money to get there. Sure some donks will go, but I can't see them getting in their car and driving 2 hrs to go blow their money every weekend.

So this leaves us with the winning player. While not everyone is making big bucks, there are alot of people who are making very good money online. Some of these people are using online poker for their sole income. Others it's just a hobby that provides them with some nice extra income. These are the types of players who I can imagine heading off to the B&M poker rooms. Not only are they good online players, they are used to the money they are making. Obviously, they won't all win in live play and they won't all keep coming back if they have to drive long distances to get there.

So to answer your question.....will it make the live games tougher to beat....maybe. If these guys really can't play online and it comes down to getting a "real" job or heading down to the B&M, most are at least going to give the B&M a whirl.

Oh and for the record, I am an online and a B&M player but I enjoy B&M play a ton more. Online poker for me is a great hobby and time killer that allows me to make a little exta money to add to my bankroll.
