Sometimes a bigger bet has less FE than a smaller bet
Just letting you guys know. I've seen overbet pushes frequently on PP and on 2+2 and it's so obviously a draw that you can call them light. Either play your big hands this way or play your big draws like a big hand.

I haven't seen a lot of 2+2ers that advocate slowplaying sets but b/3b-pushing draws. |

How can you call them light? Even if they just have a big draw you are a dog with 1 pair

Even if they just have a big draw you are a dog with 1 pair [/ QUOTE ] Calling light as in usually a big draw is 50/50 vs. a pair, and with all the dead money, it's a +EV call. I'm talking about a 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] flop holding A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and overbet-push raising (or re-raising) on the flop. |

Re: Sometimes a bigger bet has less FE than a smaller bet
In those cases, if you push, you don't want the fold equity ... if you have an EV+
But, the caller has to be very careful. It's not an easy call by any means ... Phil gordon demonstrates it in his book. Say you overbet/"overraise" all in 75% of the time with a draw, and 25% with a made premium hand, the other player can't call you if you push at the right moment, even with some gutshot str8 draws. The other player has an EV- on the long term. Check p245 of his book for more details ... |
