Default Unlocked Cell phones

I recently bought an unlocked SLVR off ebay, however there is no SIM card in my Samsung brand Sprint phone. How do I transfer my service over from one phone to another?

Way to buy a phone that uses a SIM card without realizing that Sprint doesn't use SIM cards.

I am swiching service from nextell. I am switching to either t-mobile, verizon, alltel or cingular. If I buy an unlocked slvr off ebay would I be able to just take it to Tmobile and have it work? Would I need to buy a SIM card? I am looking at something like this for example. Thanks for the help.

They will most likely give you a free SIM card when you sign up for a plan so you can just pop that in your unlocked phone, which should work for all services that use the technology.

You can't use your SLVR with Sprint.
Sprint and Verizon use CDMA, there's no SIM card for them. They're also real dicks about what phones they let you use on their network.

Cingular, T-Mobile, SunCom use GSM, which have SIM cards. Those phones are much more interchangeable.

Nextel used a proprietary protocol, but I believe it's being phased out since Sprint bought them.
