Grats. I passed as well with an 8.

Can't wait to receive my result for the FM Exam, that I found a lot tougher than the P/1.

Funny how different brains work. I would have had to struggle with P1 if it werent for the GREs, but FM was trivially easy for me (though the content has probably changed a lot since Kellermans (?) Compound Interest book was 70% of the exam).

Did they screw up FM with continous functions like they did life contingiencies? I swear I never would have become an FSA after Jordan became a relic (if you young'ns even know what Jordan is!)

[/ QUOTE ]There were a lot of questions on things that were barely mentionned in the ACTEX. I'm pretty sure I missed most of them. I can't really give you an example since I don't even remember what it was all about.

I passed this by using the ASM manual. I also had my textbook from probability class, which followed the basic syllabus(but i had taken it the previous semester, so i put in a good deal of time on the exam.) I also took FM, which the results come out tomorrow. If I passed it as well, that would be huge. I am also interning with a company right now, definitely seems like a good direction to go. Any other questions, I'll be happy to answer.

The only thing I used was the syllabus and practice tests from www.beanactuary.com. My university library had copies of 2 of the recommended text books so I checked those out as well.

Surprisingly few. I've had basic probablity and statistics classes and I was a math major so obviously I've done calculus before although even that needed quite a bit of review. As I started going through the practice tests I wasvery concerned about the amount of material that was new to me. Luckily I'm a pretty quick learner and was able to use the textbooks I had checked out to learn most of the things that seemed to be appearing the most often.

If you can do all the problems on the practice test then the actual exam should be pretty easy, thats basicially all I can tell you.
