Re: PP 11 Play this hand with me
This spot sucks, but I would call. I think he's semibluffing or overvaluing a worse made hand often enough to make it OK.

Re: PP 11 Play this hand with me
This raise is bad against unknown 11$ plyrs. Either raise less (~240), limp, or fold if you arent comfortable with youre post flop play.

Re: PP 11 Play this hand with me
since the 240 raise is pretty close to the bad 300 raise and a limp puts me in basically the same spot, would you say a fold is the best option? I am leaning towards that decision myself from now on.

[/ QUOTE ] Travesty, Is the size of the preflop raise really what makes this such a tough decision? Would raising to 240 (instead of 300) make a fold/call decision significantly easier? I don't see how, but i'd like to. I agree that limping makes postflop decision a clear fold. So it seems your preflop prioritization is (1) limp, (2) raise to 240, (3) fold. Does that sound about right, or would you put folding as (2)? |

Re: PP 11 Play this hand with me
on the first hand of an 11 in MP3 with 3 limpers, AQo is an instafold from now on.

I don't mind the preflop raise at all. 240 and 300 aren't exactly worlds apart..
As played this flop is a real easy call IMO. |

Re: PP 11 Play this hand with me
I'm raising to about 150-200 preflop. When the Q high flop hits, I'm going busto or win every time with AQ.

I'm raising to about 150-200 preflop. [/ QUOTE ] 200 is too small. 150 is woeful, that's about the size I'd openraise. |

Re: PP 11 Play this hand with me
How do you know if you double up here enough times for this call to be profitable? Where do people get those kind of stats and is this a profitable way to play this hand?
In my experience, I am usually up against 2pair, a set, or a 4 flush here. Sometimes KQ and almost never anything less. All of these scenarios are too marginal for me on the first hand of an 11, so I fold pf here from now on. |
