Overheard
"I will run through the Amazon Room buck naked if Phil Hellmuth wins this tournament." - Mike Matusow, about Phil Hellmuth's chances to win the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event

"You're now my second-favorite pick to win the tournament." - Greg Raymer to Phil Hellmuth moments later

--------

This tournament has to be full of tons of hilarious [censored] like that.

Uh card counting is cheating now?

[/ QUOTE ]

You could interpret it that way. The house will not allow card counters to play at their tables. So, it's against the rules of the house.

It's just not illegal or punishable in anyway other than the house refusing to take the player's action.

I belive the stance on this varies widely. Dynasty is correct on Vegas. In AC no one can be barred for card counting. I think some european countries have made it illegal. Not sure about the indian casinos but they seem to do what they want.

You could interpret it that way.. but you'd be wrong.

It's like not inviting a really good poker player to your casual friendly poker game. He's not cheating because he is better, he's just no longer welcome to take your money.

Wrong. Card counting is explicitly stated as being against the house rules (where applicable). Therefore, by card counting you are cheating.

That sucks if 129 players are gonna play down to 9 today.

Honestly, this event shouldn't be considered "oh, X is a great player for winning this event".

Roland de Wolfe summed it up best- limit is a game of long term.

In short, there's a house rule against thinking, and anyone who thinks at the table is cheating.

I thought Full Tilt had sats to this event. But Cardplayer has no players 'in green' - what happened to the sats? No interest?
