Salesmen are way up there.

Lawyers are probably worse, though. You can always walk out on a salesman or tell him to beat it. You NEED lawyers. And they are very, very douchey overall. Not right when they start, but many you can see their personalities turn for the worse really quickly.

Later, some of them go on to become politicians.

Corporate lawyers have the most miserable jobs in the world hands down.

but the biggest douchebag ratio exists in banking/sales-trading on wall street.

The level of competition/aggressiveness changes you. inevitably, the nicest guy in the world will develop an edge. In certain situations, the ugliest of ugly sides will come out.

It's really difficult to knowingly give people terrible, self-serving advice while posing as their friend all day without being a douche. So sales, sales, sales. A much better question is "Which class of salespeople is the worst?" Cars/Finance/Real Estate?
