Thoughts please......was this a necessary risk at this point, was I up against enough hands that I either had the best hand and/or had some fold equity if he held a big heart?
My thoughts were, he would call with any pocket pair, but would fold any non-heart big cards, and I would be happy to gamble with him if he wanted to call w/ just the A or K of hearts, especially since I have an A, then the A overcard wouldn't be an out for villian. Obviously, I'm also gambling that he didn't flop a flush.....thoughts?

I like the push. There is about 12K in the pot and you have 18K left. He has to fold a lot of his possible foldings. There is a good chance you are ahead. If not, you should outs unless he flopped a flush.

The preflop call is OK. Pushing and folding are also OK.

I agree....a better hand here consists of pretty much any pocket pair...... a 9 (not likely), or a flopped flush(also not likely) are also possibilities. So i pretty much bet all in that he didn't have a pocket pair, and like I said, if he wanted to call w/ A hearts, I'm happy to gamble. This is a good bet, right?

Well, I prefer a CR, as you might get a cont. bet from those hands you beat. Yes they might feel compelled to call with the pot odds, but its probably more profitable to go to showdown for stacks than to just pick up thispot (not 100% sure about that though, I'm feeling to lazy to work out the actual math). The only reason I can see to push is to make sure a hand like 2 middle cards with a heart doesn't bet, then feel like it has to call. I don't think that happens that often.

Ok, rethinking this and the push is fine. Disregard my last post, my assumptions are probably wrong.

I like it. I think he does fold a few better hands and I think he also calls with overcards/flush draws which is OK too.

I don't know if I like the CR. I have 20k, roughly 12k in pot. I want to be first in the pot....rather go AI and force him to make a tough decision, then check, have him go AI, and have to ponder calling w/ 4's. Any line for CR I'm not seeing here?
