How good do you feel about an A high flop when the original raiser bets 1/2 the pot?

[/ QUOTE ]

calling is fine, folding is okay too.

Yeah, but for most of the people reading this thread calling isn't so fine, .

How would you play Aqo if you were first to act in the early rounds and late rounds?

Big Blind is t40 (10 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t2000)
UTG+1 (t2000)
MP1 (t2000)
MP2 (t2000)
MP3 (t2000)
<font color="red"> Curtains </font> (t2000)
CO (t2000)
Button (t2000)
SB (t2000)
BB (t2000)

Preflop: Hero is in CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="gray">UTG+1 folds</font>, <font color="gray">MP1 folds</font>, MP2 calls t40, <font color="red">MP3 raises to t80</font>, <font color="red"> Curtains folds</font>

This is the hand that really helped me turn the corner. Before reading Curtains HH I would repop this. After hearing his explanation for folding, I saw he was right. It probably increased my ROI by 1-2% alone.

Seems I am in the minority on something I thought was pretty standard. I will have to check into my low and mid pp plays.

You're giving him credit for being a tight solid player by assuming he has AK. But, min raising with AK in early position is a weak move, and so how can you possibly give him credit for the strong hand?

I'm calling this and assuming I'm ahead when an ace hits. I may also raise this and assume I'm ahead when an ace hits. Only if he had made a proper raise would I fold. I'd fold every time this early in a tournament to a 3xBB raise.
