I learned what a Luddite is, Google is my friend.

[/ QUOTE ]

I always put a "~" in front of my posting signature only because I liked the way it looked. I had no idea what it was. So just to see how far Google would go I Googled "~" and came up with my first blank ever (no hits!). Then I went to Google's advanced search, entered the exact phrase = "keyboard character" and entered all of the words = "~" and found it its called a tilde in a keyboard chart.

When I Googled "tilde" I got this on the first hit.

Google is great.

The only time I hit a jackpot was at Hollywood Park. An older gentleman with an overactive bladder missed the jp. Most of the table pitched in some money to him. I don't see why this isn't standard, unless the guy is a complete jerk.

Rick - try to google the archives... use your sure thing keywords followed by 'site:archiveserver.twoplustwo.com' (without apostrophes) in the google search box.

Thanks for the tip. I meant to get back to you to say I couldn't find it (I think it was in a deleted PM), but I did enjoy using Google to search within a site and found some other old stuff that brought back memories. But I'm still not good at using Google for in site seachers and hope to find time to practice with it later.

What I'd eventually like to figure out is how to use Google to search the real old archives. Had trouble the first time I tried it, may have made some sort of syntax mistake.
