Depends. Goal blood pressure for non-diabetics and people with normal kidneys is less than 140/90. Are you on any other medicines? Stessed? Any other changes in your life lately? Plus, blood pressure varies from one moment to other, so you might want to check it again to see what it is.

No Meds... Quit smoking and gained 30-40 pounds in 2 months. That's about it. And I'm young.

This could be very bad. You should not drink or smoke or drink caffeen one evening then take your BP in the morning when you first get up. If the bottom numbr is still 100 or higher you should contact you doctor for the earliest appointment. Tell them your BP number when you call. The normal safe "high BP" rule of thumb is the upper number should be no higher than 100 + your age and the bottom number should not exceed 94.

Yeah, sorry about that. 140/90 is goal with drug treatment, 120/80 is normal BP for healthy people. It's definitely something you want to get checked if its high for another reading.

30-40 pounds weight gain in a few months is an extreme case. You seriously need to go see a doctor asap imo. Your diastolic being over 110 is never a good thing. I bet your cholesterol is prolly very high too.
