Well, my read was correct I was very close to laying down on the turn. After I check raised the flop and he raised me on the turn it was obvious he had something big and was not going to fold. I was hoping he just had an ace and some sort of draw or two pair, but with either of those hands he just calls the turn so they were unlikely. He is not an idiot, we had been playing together for a couple of hours and every single big hand I got involved in I had the goods. I should have gone with my read and laid down on the turn.
For the action and player involved, I'd say I am behind 70% of the time. Against a random player I agree pushing the turn is a no brainer but this is not a random player. Why gamble with a stack thats taken you 3 hours to build? You're better off waiting until your up against a weak player or a situation when you are more certain you have the advantage.
