Without a pre-flop raise I always bet out with top pair. Are there situations in which this is incorrect?

I'd hit it.
I think the only time I wouldn't is if the board is monotone not my suit, and even then I might... |

People call the flop with all kinds of [censored]. I might c/c the river if both of the call the turn too and nothing gets there on the ri ver. But yeah I almost always bet out with top pair. If you get called then raised you can probably dump it with a weak kicker but always bet.
