10/20 pounds: Am I supposed to fold?
I am a PLO newbie so comments on all streets are welcome. Villian just took a very bad beat on another table so he may be tilting but I am not sure. He is also very aggressive.
Cryptologic Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $10/$20 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $4367.26 UTG+1: $12514 CO: $326.32 Button: $6446 Hero: $4156.46 BB: $4072.50 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to $70, CO calls, Button folds, Hero calls, BB calls. Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($280, 4 players) Hero checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, CO checks. Re: 10/20 pounds: Am I supposed to fold?
Don't call the turn raise if you aren't calling the river. He either has the nuts (though probably wouldn't play the straight flush that hard but might if he is tricky and wanted to build a really big pot), or is putting a move on with only the naked A. As you have no redraws to a boat you need to make the decision on the turn because he isn't letting off the gas just because you call.

Re: 10/20 pounds: Am I supposed to fold?
The fact that 2 other people folded doesn't change the situation with villain, and in fact makes it more likely he has what he is representing as 2 others were yet to act. So decide whether he has you beat or is putting on a move with the naked A or maybe even a set.

Fold and then beg to see his hand. If he has the straight flush, he'll be all giddy and show it either way.

Re: 10/20 pounds: Am I supposed to fold?
1. You're a PLO newbie and are playing 10/20? Seems a little stupid.
2. In this hand, I bet the flop. If I get called on the flop, i check call the turn and river. As played, I'll call the turn and make sure I hit the Qd on the river. Without info on the villain it's hard to know if we're ahead or behind here. I probably call though. |

Re: 10/20 pounds: Am I supposed to fold?
I think you have to fold here. Without any further info on BB, you have to give him credit for the nut flush. Clearly, he has either the nut flush or the lone ranger. If he has the nut flush, the round of checking on the flop makes him believe that his pot raise is more likely to be called, and explains his raise. If he has the lone ranger, he knows that the round of checking makes it more likely he is called. With the lone ranger, if he is called, he is going to have to pot the river as well. Its a major commitment. Unless you know this guy i would lay it down to the turn raise and move on.
(I seriously doubt he raises the straight flush here. The chances that (a) he has it, and (b) he plays it like that, mean i would almost ignore the possibility) |

Re: 10/20 pounds: Am I supposed to fold?
Check the turn, although you likely have the best hand, you're only going to win money from someone bluffing right now. Check calling is fine, but betting out and getting raised means you have to fold here.
