If the LVPD was run like PokerStars and they caught the guy, they'd just make him give the 5k back and let him go.

True. Either that or they would shoot him. No middle ground for those guys. :-)

Easy double up. Better than betting on black.

And what else exactly could PokerStars legally do?

shocking that the rio reimbursed him.

last time in vegas, at the mirage, some young kid had like 2k stolen similarly and they did nothing.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, young kid....60 year old man....that seems to be the difference. Not that it's right, but you know they probably just told the kid to fk off.

Even more amazing, while we were digesting what just took place about 150 yards from the table, I hear, "Sir, your action", and "Cocktails, anyone??" immediately within ten seconds of hearing the explanation.....Then it really hit me, nothing is shutting this place down.

[/ QUOTE ]

That reminds me of a time there was a small fire in the poker room. some players were looking behind me and then the delaer told me there is a fire over there. I looked and there was in fact a small fire coming out of the trash can. I said "thank you, keep dealing."

I guess because time is money so literally with Casinos its going to take something extreme to actually shut one down or evacuate an area. As long as there is no threat to the customers I have no problem with that. I'm surprised it isnt standard policy for them to refund customers who have been robbed (as long as they are sure its no scam). I mean its very -EV for them to have stories of robberies in their casino over the press/internet, its kinda worth them shelling out the $5k to flip a positive end to the stories.
