Home Dedicated dealer
This weekend, we had our broke friend show up. We offered to let him deal for the night. He of course didnt play, but made $45 in tips in 4 hours of play. Which is pretty good because we are playing .25/.50 NL. Does anyone have an issue with this? I know that some might, if you show up to a game you rarely play in and there is a dedicated dealer, OMG he is cold decking me, might cross your mind if you running bad. It really sped up the game the dealer use to deal for a living. Thoughts?

Re: Home Dedicated dealer
Why would you be more likely to suspect a dedicated dealer of cheating than you would the other players?

Re: Home Dedicated dealer
Good question. I have no idea. LOL, I am just playing devils advocate, if someone new comes to our games, and sees us all chummy with the dealer.... The connection could be made quickly.

[/ QUOTE ] It's a danger for newbies- hopefully you're not stupid enough to use someone as a dealer who has questionable ethics. Maybe have various players cut the deck, use a 3- or 4- stack cut and that should eliminate most of the "risk" for the perception. |

Re: Home Dedicated dealer
I'm one of the dedicated dealers in my home game (and I play while dealing).
Our system is to have the button shuffle one deck while the other deck is played for a hand. When the hand is over, I grab the newly shuffled deck, give it one cut and deal. Seems pretty simple and effective. Nobody tokes me though... |

You must just suck as a dealer! :P |

Might swith over to the button though. We play a tournament style game and the winners always toke the dealer unless he finishes in the money. |
