I'm not sure about that; most of us advocating checking behind, weren't in favor of a turn 3 bet. I'd say that a fold is better than a 3 bet on the turn, but calling the turn is fine.

If you called the turn and he checks the river I would look at the probability that he will pay you with the worst hand compared to the probability that he is sandbagging and will raise your bet. He does not fear the flush so if he got lucky and has 2-pair and he is capable of check-raising a check is the best choice. If he calls with the best hand (instead of raising) a bet is the best choice.

But what would you do if he 4-bets the turn? I think that's an easy fold if this player does not bluff a lot.

The fact that a consensus has emerged that we should 3-bet the turn but check the river is fairly amusing.

Yeah, does the average old guy in this game C/R draws on the turn and not follow thru on the river?

You would presumably want to fold but are giving up 3 jack outs that are probably good 1/2 the time or so. Another reason why 3-betting the turn is misapplied aggression.

I agree, I would not 3-bet the turn either.

have you been playing the 30 at wynn? no. youve been playing 1-2 and that's why youre saying 3 bet. the 30 at wynn is full of retarded nits. folding the turn is a fine option, but checking the river once c/red is definitely the right play.

none of us know the person specifically we're talking about here. but i do believe that the 3-bet is negative value. a lot of players in this description play very timidly, and I have seen them check behind on a hand like this with AQ and KQ, reguarding your 3-bet as a set or something better than his hand.

i think your 3-bet and river bet would be the way to go if you're going to even 3-bet at all. this way you have the chance of your opponent folding the best hand, more so than a value bet. i think the likelyhood of him check raising this river is very unlikely.

Bet. I'd 3 bet the turn.

That would have been my choice of action as well.

Bad in this game IMO. Closer to a fold than a 3bet. I'd just calldown and check when he checks though. Basically what mike l said.
