Okay, given the level of feeling, I have reverted the Lounge to the old rules.

I do expect all of you arguing for this to provide some suitable content in the next week or two

honestly didn't think my little thread would help get rid of the changes, but i'm glad they played their part. good call, db, going with the public opinion.

Perhaps it's too late to contribute but I'll express my thoughts anyway.

A lot of the posts in OOT are made to see whether opinion X is standard or what most people's opinion of a subject is. This is different from having a discussion. A discussion involves listening and responding. I don't know if you can really moderate in such a way as to encourage discussion but that's my preference. I suspect that the way the forum was earlier was more a function of the size of the participants and what they were interested in.

I don't know if you will be banning people. However anyone who posts "tl;dr" or "YSSCKY" (or any of its variants) will definitely help destroy whatever tone exists that is conducive to longer slower dicussions.

I'm interested in exactly what Pryor is talking about. Let's have fun, adult conversations and discussion here. Nothing wrong with a little silliness, but we certainly don't need 6 polls cluttering up the front page.

Also, I think I'm done with OOT...so I'll be more than happy to help the Lounge out by posting relevant material here. Reviews, etc.

Down with OOT. Long live The Lounge!

oh cool. I thought maybe I missed something. I can't be on here 24/7 so I never know what's occurred. I was wondering why people were treating you mean. I don't get that at all. I always thought your posts were good and very well written. Personally I'm uncomfortable with porn and yet even I found myself saying 'damn, this guy writes good!' So anyway, I don't know what that whole culling thing was about. Very strange.
